About Adam Paul
"No matter what else you do as an actor - tell a good story"
As a director and writer, Adam Paul has worked on multiple seasons of CBS's Emmy Award winning "The Inspectors”, created and starred in the Starz comedy "Hollywood Residential," and co-wrote, produced and directed "Full Nelson," a wrestling comedy web series with over 5 million views.
As an actor, Paul is best known for playing Mitch, ‘The Naked Man’ on the CBS comedy “How I Met Your Mother.” He also appears in numerous TV programs, films, and commercials, including “The Informant!“ “One for the Money” and “Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.”
As a Webby Award winning commercial director and writer, Paul has shot spots for VW, MasterCard, Lenovo, Caterpillar and many more.
Adam was classically trained as an actor at the American Conservatory Theater, where he earned his Masters Degree in 1992. He is an adjunct professor of acting at the University Nevada Las Vegas in the Film and Theatre Departments.
Adam's background in theater, improvisation, comedy and the classics provide a broad foundation that informs his filmmaking: Tell a good story.
- Adam's PhilosophyLuck Favors the Prepared - And Preparation Requires Disciplined, Focused Work.
The creative training at which we work so hard to develop a technique is really the foundation to the rest of our careers. Foundations need maintenance and continual care to ensure they're stable, strong and reliable.
The career we spend the majority of our time pursuing often feels completely unrelated to the creative work we're striving for. Hustling, networking, assembling marketing materials, and generally building our 'brand' or 'business' hardly seems like the art that inspired us in the first place.
But these career efforts need to be integrated with our creative skillsets in order for them to be truly effective. They need to be an effortless extension of the craft we love.
I've developed an overarching framework for creative professionals I call StoryTeamGo intended to align the seemingly endless and byzantine avenues of a professional creative career. This informs all of my teaching, but is especially useful in the real world. Check out the basics at the link above.
If you're looking to start or accelerate your career as a performer in the entertainment industry, I think you'll get a lot from what I teach.
I look forward to working with you!
